Here are the steps to cut audio in Audacity:
1. Open the audio clip you want to manipulate in Audacity.
2. Click the “Selection Tool” (or press F1 for the keyboard shortcut), and then click and drag over the area that you want to cut. You will see the selected area highlighted darker.
3. Split the audio clip by navigating to Edit → Clip Boundaries → Split (Keyboard Shortcut Ctrl+I) or simply press Delete to remove the selected area.
