To remove a shower faucet, you can follow these steps:

1. Remove the mixer handle.
2. Remove the decorative cover of the mixer.
3. Cut out the faucet access hole if necessary.
4. Decide what fittings you need for existing pipes.
5. Remove the old faucet valve.
6. When replacing a shower faucet, take off the shower head by turning the connecting nut counterclockwise with a pair of pliers.
7. Faucet handles can be removed in different ways. Some have a cover plate, which can be pried off with a small screwdriver. The remaining components of the handle either unscrew or pull off. Keep removing parts until you reach the valve in the wall.
