Here are the steps to stain concrete floors:
1. Surface preparation: The concrete must be free of any dirt, debris and residues. Scrub the concrete with a solution of TSP and water. Any stubborn stains need to be removed with a chemical degreaser or paint remover. Only use mechanical abrasion to remove stains as a last resort!
2. Apply the stain: Apply the stain using a mop or sprayer. Make sure you apply it evenly and in thin coats. You can use multiple colors if you want to create a unique look.
3. Let it dry: Let the stain dry for at least 24 hours before walking on it.
4. Seal the floor: Once the stain is dry, apply a sealer to protect the floor from moisture and stains. You can use either a water-based or solvent-based sealer depending on your preference.
